Mpumi Mayisa
Tsoko Art Advisory supports Black collectors in building meaningful collections — artworks that hold both cultural significance and long-term value. We connect artists, collectors and their stories, shaping collections that serve as heritage archives and living legacies.
Founded by Mpumi Mayisa, a Johannesburg-based curator, writer and cultural worker, Tsoko emerges from a practice rooted in deep research and a love for material storytelling. Mpumi has worked across the African art ecosystem as a curator and collaborator — from her role as Junior Curator for the NIROX Foundation Winter Sculpture Exhibition (2018–2020) to curatorial projects like Bathini Abafazi?, A Crescendo of Daydreams, and Hlukanisa, uHlanganise — creating spaces where heritage, memory and contemporary expression intersect.
